christmas spirit

It has taken me awhile to get into decorating my own home for Chrissy, when I have been living in 'christmasland' with my wonderful clients. I feel like I am apart of their christmas as I place their beautiful family pics into our personalised christmas card range.

So, to get the ball rolling, I took the kiddies for a drive to see the christmas lights. A lovely woman opened her home to strangers to view her beautifully deocorated lightshow. She walked around with a beeming smile and a basket of out chocolates for the kids. Also in hand was paper to write a letter to santa and a gorgeous red letterbox to place the letter in. There was even an area on her porch to play with musical toys.... what great xmas spirit!!!!
So, I decided to decorate outside, not with lights (thats my hubby's job), but with subtle pom pom! Simple yet effective once again!

To end this note with christmas cheer and a glass of bubbles in hand .... have a wonderful and safe christmas and new year. May all your dreams come true in 2011!

I have to share some mummy talents that Australia has to offer!
Check out this beautiful dress I bought online from Shan at Missy Melly. My daughter absolutely loves it! I also bought this felt hairclip from Abby J at the Matilda markets in Brisbane which matches perfectly. The gorgeous model you see here is the precious Hannah, my 5 year old gem. She tells me its going to be her christmas dress but could she wear it down to the post office just to show it off.

Here is a cupcake topper and banner I designed for a friends christening of her beautiful girl Lucy who had to overcome an amazing heart operation when she was a couple of days old. It was a very special and precious day!

Tip 1: Christmas photos: kids looking up or down can make your photo soft and natural. Stand on a stool and shoot down and get them to look up.

Tip 2: Choose locations with a natural enviroment. Laying on the grass, leaning against a wooden fence, the beach or just a white room.


Tip 3: Capture your childs personality.. whether it's is laughing, hanging upside down, in a superhero costume, jumping, picking flowers or cuddling their siblings.

How fab are these.. I have lost the link, but this was at a spanish market stall.

Here is a custom design I have recently created for my lovley friend Trudy.
Skating parties seem to be all the rage with the girls these days. Brings back memories of when I was young.... couples around the ring, disco balls etc...ahhhh

Her daughter Lola loves writing thank you notes to all her friends after a party so I have design matching thank you's and Lolly bag tags to match the invites.

mathilda's markets - june 2010

As a first timer at the markets.. I must say it is a well oiled machine when it comes to being a firt time stall holder. Everything was perfect. It is a great concept and the quality of these boutique markets is exceptional and I advised all mums in Brissy to attend to find a unique selection of delights!

My invitations have made some new friends and contacts and I now am busy with orders and designing some new themes.

Now to upload onto my website all my party packs and the rest of my lolly bag tags... a very time consuming task and a wine may be needed to support the repetitive task I am about to do.

my enchanted forest.....

I decided to give my enchanted forest invite a little makeover. I have added a sweet little birdie to ponder about the world of parties and all things yummy!
I also had news today that my invites have hit the American market the arabian way with my belly dancing theme and gift tags.... look out..here come the invasion of Aussie designs.

Found this gorgeous party decoration idea from project weddings. What a great idea for your next party instead of balloons.

Under the sea or mermaid parties could look great with different tones of blue and green hanging from the ceiling with maybe some paper fish attached. Fabulous!
